Abacay's performed by Melany Morganstern & Miles Torrance.
Before Abacay, Melany was singing in several bands and projects and Miles was involved in a 2-people-music-project over years. The female singer of this project announced to leave the country in a few months. Miles had to seek for a new girl taking the place of vocalist.
Melany did get this message brought by newspaper, picked up the phone and finaly became the new singer.
After a few weeks and tries she's not just the singer of lyrics and melodies given by Miles anymore. On almost every song she's deeply involved in the writing process and works out most of the vocal lines. "That's what it makes better than the song writing before. It's always great to have a partner who thinks in the same way to make the best of a song idea. But who's also flexible enough to throw away what doesn't fit, to work on something better." (Miles)
The chemistry is good between Melany and Miles.
During this time Miles was not satisfied with the project's sound anymore. The use of new production systems with lots more possibilities caused the need for re-recording and re-producing of their songs.
And because of the sound did change the project name should change, too. After some brainstorming "Abacay" was taken as the new name.
Because of family, job and several obstacles it did take some time until a number of songs could get finished.
The first Abacay album "Victims Of Circumstances" was released on 25.09.2009.
